About ACASAI

Bridging the Gap in Foundation & High School Education

Registered in September 2020 as a Section 18A PBO, ACASAI is a community-based programme focused on supporting learners from Grade 4 to Grade 11 across Bonteheuwel, Parow, Heideveld, and Bishop Lavis.

While the 2025 matric results celebrated a record-breaking 88% pass rate, over 566,000 learners dropped out along the way. We aim to combat this by teaching learners how to retain information, manage their workload, and find true value in their education.

Our Solution

We recruit retired teachers and university students to assist learners with their CAPS curriculum schoolwork, easing the load on parents and educators while creating job and experience opportunities for the youth.

ACASAI Community

Over the last 3 years, we have assisted more than 100 learners to transition successfully through their school phases.

Exausee's Story

Former Learner turned Volunteer

"Because of you my brother succeeded from failing to getting a most developed learner award. Thank you for entrusting me with the kids last year as a volunteer."

Volunteer Training

We believe in equipping our volunteers to provide high-quality service. We’ve recently completed Scribe and Reading training, provided by the Department of Education, allowing us to assist marginalised learners with special needs during exams.

This training was also opened to surrounding communities, creating more job opportunities for the unemployed.

Community Enrichment

We believe in the holistic development of our learners, offering activities beyond the classroom. These include swimming lessons and reading or playing games with the elderly.

These are often first-time experiences for our children, providing them with valuable life lessons and broader community integration.

Our Partners & Sponsors

Thank you to all our funders, sponsors, and supporters for believing in our learners as much as we do!
